RESEARCH INTEREST

1)      Electrocatalyst for ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR).

Although the direct ethanol fuel cells (DEFCs) are beset by a number of technical challenges, most notably the sluggish kinetics and the incomplete oxidation products of the ethanol oxidation reaction (EOR) at room temperature, the interest in DEFCs has not waned because of the lure of ethanol as a non-toxic renewable fuel. Our target is to design Pt-based nanoparticles supported on electronically conductive carbon, which can show high activity at low potential, good selectivity to CO2 and long-term durability for EOR in acidic conditions.

The trend of Pt-Sn nanoparticles agglomeration on carbon black and their EOR activity

2)      Electrochemistry methodology and application.

Cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronoamperometry (CA) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS)
